My name is Brittany and I go by the username Crown Prince Lioncion.
Firstly, I'd like to take the time and say Thank You for taking the time to visit my website. It has been a long journey from when I first started 'officially' cosplaying in 2007 (We're going to skip over the hand-sewn, Rinoa Heartilly duster from 1998) and I am happy to be sharing all my latest projects with all of you fine people.
If you aren't familiar with the term 'cosplay' let me enlighten you,
Cosplay - cos·play [kos-pley]
noun 1. the art or practice of wearing costumes to portray characters from fiction, especially from manga, animation, and science fiction. 2. a skit featuring these costumed characters. verb (used with object) 3. to portray (a fictional character) by dressing in costume. verb (used without object) 4. to take part in cosplay: He cosplayed as a Jedi from Star Wars. Origin:
1995–2000; cos(tume) + play
Basically, it's an activity of dressing up in costumes by individuals with shared interests. <3
I've been officially cosplaying since 2007, starting off my debut at Anime Central in Rosemont, IL -while helping out with then-business White Wizard Toys. I cosplayed from 2007 to 2008 and gave it a break to engross myself (again, darn) in the magical world of Azeroth. We've all been there, or had a friend that has at one time or another. After deciding that darkened, florescent-lit monotony was no longer for me I bravely ventured into the real world once again and slowly picked up slowly again in 2011. I didn't jump into cosplay again right away, dabbling in how-to sell product type websites like Etsy and Ebay. I practiced my hand at custom made plushes. Making the adorable, fluffy dolls wasn't the hard part, the ever-changing-always confusing shipping rates of the U.S. postal service was. Now, that I had retrained my mind muscles in the ways of fabric and needle I felt it was time to express my love of the art again in more...overt ways. Ha.
Crown Prince Lioncion wasn't my original username back in the day. I had another, one that didn't really stand out and was a combination of looking at the weather outside and finding its Latin counterpart. So it was essentially the same word twice, but in a different language. I decided it was time for a change. At the time I had no idea what new name I would go by. Fantasia would have crumbled to the ground if Bastian hadn't come in the form of 6 months mind degradation at a daycare and someone who creatively put colored fibers together in the form of "words" or in this case. A new name.
Now we're here, 2014. Shedding that old hermit of a shell I had years ago I've attended many events, networked with photographers, cosplayers and other artists. I'm happier and healthier (finger exercises, last time I checked didn't extend one's life or lower one's pant size) and buzzing with new creativity. I'm established now in the Greater Kansas City Area and I hope to see many of you at future events. I'm open to talking with people so don't be afraid to come up and say hello!
Love x Peace,
